Disney goes to Japan – Japan Animes

I have just come across this news that Walt Disney is to produce anime films in Japan in tie-ups with local studios to adapt to regional tastes. The first will be a short children’s film about a robot, made jointly with Japan’s biggest animation studio Toei Animation Company. The company also plans to make a Japanese version of Lilo and Stitch. All the movies will be made using local animation creators and computer graphics specialists.

This JAPAN ANIMES TV series originated in late 1970’s and can be really classed as vintage Japan Animes series. An evil organisation by the name of Galactor with the use as always with the use of High Tech and terror tactics wants global domination.  ISO (International Science Organization) stands in its way to fight for freedom through secret experiment using five kids and holds the their tactics in check.

This Japan Animes TV series inspired the creation of animated series called Battle of Planets and

JAPAN ANIMES I got interested in animated movies or animation movies sometime ago Japananimes also referred to as Japanese Animation originated from Japan. It started with the publication of Manga which was cartoons on print media. Lots of hand painted drawings were made and then filmed and then made into full length movies TV series or so called OVA,s which stand for Original Video Animation. Sound was added by voice actors so that feeling of real movie is given. Music was also added.

Later computers were used in place of drawing by hand and it became quicker to produce movies etc

Now there are lots of different series and are aired on kids TV channels as well as other channels.

There are lots of series but one of the most popular JAPANESE ANIMATED MOVIES AND ANIMATION MOVIES is Dragonball which has three series called Dragonball, Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT and comes in TV series or in the form of an animated movie or OVA ( short for Original Video Animation.

I thought that I would profile some of the character in the Dragon ball series and this is one of them

Character of Goku in Dragonball TV series

Goku was a low class Saiyan who was sent to destroy the Earth. His father, Bardock, was disappointed when his power level was only 2. Goku bumped his head and got amnesia. He was pure hearted from then on. He was adopted by Grandpa Son Gohan, who was his first trainer. He accidentally killed his “grandfather” when he turned into an Oozaru (by looking into the moonlight).

Goku was found by a young girl named Bulma when she went to search for seven mystic balls called the Dragonballs. They came across an old man called Kame Sennin who was once the world’s strongest man. Goku went back to him for training. He became super strong and was given an orange gi. He wore this gi almost through Dragonball and Dragon Ball Z.

In the beginning of Dragon Ball Z, we see his first son (named Gohan), which he had with his wife Chi-Chi. His brother Raditz was disappointed that Earth was still in existence, and he became furious when he figured out that Goku had lost his memory.

He held Gohan hostage and said Goku must kill 100 people before he can get his son back. Goku refused. He started fighting Raditz along with his rival, Piccolo. Goku made a noble sacrifice and risked his life to keep his planet and his son safe. (Note: he had a second son named Goten.)

That’s when he went into the dead, meeting his next trainer, Kaiousama (King Kai) who taught Goku two powerful techniques. The first one Kaio-ken, doubles his speed, strength, and senses. The second is the deadliest attack in the entire series: the Genkidama (or Spirit Bomb). This attack nearly killed the Saiyan Prince Vegeta and the terrible lizard-like Frieza. It also killed the most powerful villain in Dragon Ball Z, Kid Buu.

In Dragon Ball Z, Goku has 3 transformations.

His first transformation is a super saiyan this form is used on episode 80, in the freeza saga. In second Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan 2 in his battle against Majin Vegeta. Lastly, Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan 3 in episode 230 in his battle against Majin Buu.

At the end of Dragon Ball Z, Goku became the most powerful being in the universe.

JAPAN ANIMES – Dvd Information Codes and Quality

DVDs in Japan animated movies and animation movies come with Region codes –

Region 1 is for USA and Canada

Region 2 is for Europe and Japan

Region 3 is for South East Asia

Region 4 is for Australia New Zealand

Region 5 is for Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Africa, Central and South Asia, Mongolia, North Korea and

Region 6 is for China

These region codes are important as the animated movies or animation movies DVD will not play if the player is NOT compatible with the coding

There is also another creature called Region 0 or region free that will play on any DVD player. The DVD disks usually come from the Far East mainly from China especially Hong Kong.

These dvds are sometimes referred to as bootlegs or unauthorised copies. These animated or animation movies and TV series are either copies or copied directly from TV and the subtitles are inserted and at times English audio is added. The easiest way to find out is to see the front of the set usually the picture is not perfect and it will have Chinese characters and most importantly it will have Chinese subtitles as well.

Prices are quite cheap. This sounds good but do not fall for it but it has problems but one buying these disks will get an inferior or substandard quality – sometimes the disk will not function properly the audio may not be in sync with the pictures and the subtitles may not make sense at all.

All said and done you are better off paying a bit more and getting the genuine animated movies or animation movies or TV series

And if you cannot get it then you are better off not buying it at all

When things get tough in the economy, there never seems to be any lack of people who will step-up to rip you off. You get emails from people from new Anime stores going by names like ‘Foxy Anime’ or ‘Mac Anime’ or ‘Anime X’ claiming ‘70% discounts’ and ‘dramatic savings’ and such. This is a warning that these stores are   ‘Zombie stores’. The discounts they are advertising are on bootleg listings, and these stores seem to all be setup by the same people who are just registering domain names and then loading up these ’store fronts’ from a common database.

Aside from the fact that these stores are advertising illegal merchandise, no one knows if they are even legit and  do not do business or give your personal information to any store like this. Who knows if they are even shipping product or just setup to capture credit card numbers for a short time before they are shut down and then setup again with a different name and URL. And if you are wondering how these guys got your e-mail address, my feeling is that those sleaze bags that used to run the now defunct DiscountAnimeDVD site have probably sold their database of Anime customers (including their personal info) to whomever will pay for it.

There is a lesson here that goes beyond ‘don’t buy bootlegs’, and it’s never do business with anyone you don’t know or trust (especially online), there are plenty of guys out there looking to rip people off.

DRAGONBALL  Z Season 8 has just been released by Funiamtion

It contains episodes 220-253 the synopsis is as follows

28 March 2009 – JAPAN ANIMES – Jin Roh

In a very different Tokyo from the one we know today. The totalitarian government rules with an iron fist. But a group called “the Sect” is staging demonstrations and challenging the government’s martial law and gets stronger by the day.

Constable Fuse of the Capital Police’s Special Unit is on a mission to stop a Sect demonstration and comes across a young girl “Red Riding Hood” carrying a satchel bomb, he freezes instead of shooting, and the girl blows herself up. Fuse is charged and sent back to training camp and the police see their opportunity for a coup.

While off duty Fuse visits the girl’s grave, only to find her sister there, almost an exact double of the girl, Fuse, who looks and acts as though he has a serious trauma over what he has seen, befriends the girl….but, is she really her sister?  Fuse has made himself a target for some very powerful men. And as his world comes crashing down around him, Fuse is continually challenged to decide what is real and what is right.

Funimation have released the following Dragonball Z movies

Super Android 13

Peace and quiet is interrupted by violent explosions and it appears that the world is under siege. Goku knows that he is actually the target.  \he wonders who these people are! He then finds that the strangers are NOT emitting an energy signals so he realises that these are Androids that are stronger, faster, and ten times more deadly than before?

Bojack Unbound

Millionaire  X.S. Cash is funding an amazing martial arts tournament the finalists must do battle with warriors from 4 corners of the Galaxy. A band of criminals have their own ideas they wish to take over the tournament and also conquer the world. Their leader is Bojack Goku is incapable of helping so Gohan has to9 find the power and then strength to do it.

Funimation is also to release Dragonball Z  Movies 12 & 13 remastered  in May. It will   have regular packaging and will NOT be a Steel Case box like the previous releases.  

Fusion reborn

A teenage ogre, distracted by his heavy metal music, accidentally breaks an important “evil purification” machine in the Otherworld. A giants rift opens between the Otherworld and Earth, and the dead–including many old Dragon Ball villains and even Hitler–cross over into the land of the living. Even the wish-granting powers of Shenlong the dragon are insufficient to close the gateway, and Gohen, Goten, and Trunks must battle the undead hoards. Meanwhile, their deceased fathers Goku and Vegeta, already dead and in the Otherworld, attempt to repair the faulty machine, but discover that the young ogre has been transformed into a monster named Janenba that has strange powers and seems invincible to their mightiest attacks. As a last chance, Goku must convince Vegeta to swallow his pride and use the Fusion Dance technique.

Wrath of the Dragon

Thousands of years ago, the peace on the planet of Konats was disturbed by a group of black magicians, who cast a spell on a statue and brought it to life to terrorize the universe. The monster, Hildegarn, destroyed the planet before it was subdued by two brave brothers, Taipon and Minosha, who have guarded Hidegarn’s remains ever since. Now, however, one of the black magicians has found them, and Hildegarn has once again been set loose. It’s up to the Z fighters and the courageous warrior brothers to stop him.

There are 2 series that are classics in their own rights as follows – these two have been around quite some time and the first one is getting quite rare and I have seen one listed for over £240 for one set of 6 disks

Devil Lady

Fudo Jun is a beautiful supermodel who is idolized by many. She also has a dark secret that even she does not know about at first anyway as within her veins run the genes that hold the next step in the evolution of mankind. This is same blood as the beast like super humans that terrorize the city.

Unlike the rest of them, though, Jun has managed to hold a tenuous grip onto her humanity. She is recruited by the mysterious Asuka Ran, member of a secret organization within the government, aimed at controlling, if not eliminating, these berserk destroyers of mankind.
